Defektro, Forenzics, Abre Ojos, Sound Object, & Demoncore to Play The Sounds Unsound #6, 24th October 2015
Dirk and I have put together an amazing lineup for this, the sixth in The Sounds Unsound presents series. It’s a massive synth vs guitars type lineup happening on Saturday 24th September 2015, Underground at Valve Bar and Venue, Agincourt Hotel, 871 George Street, Sydney, Australia, with doors at 8pm and tickets $15 on the door.
Digital/analog synth duo Demoncore will be kicking off the night at 8.30pm, followed by post-doom guitar duo Sound Object featuring yours truly from Forenzics and Pete Jones from the mighty Axis Trio, Melbourne based audio/visual maestro Abre Ojos, the usual darkly textured improvised soup of Forenzics, and saving the best till last, Defektro in all his man/machine noize interface glory. Our own visual maestro RedCell Disorder will be projecting his signature improvised textured insanity throughout the night apart from Abre Ojos’ set.
We’re also way excited to share the stage once again with Forenzics’ original drummer Ben Eadie for the first time in many, many years. Sure to be interesting.
Our Melbourne launch will be at the legendary Make It Up Club, a long running improvised music series, at Bar Open, 317 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Melbourne, Victoria, on the 10th March 2015. At this, our first ever show in Melbourne, the band’s line up will feature Matthew Syres and Dirk Kruithof on guitars, Joe Cummins on trumpet and electronics, special guest Maria Moles on drums, and Shahane Bekarian on projections for a unique, stunning, cinematic, and synaesthetic journey down the rabbit warren of our darkest musical hearts.

Our Sydney launch coincides with the release of the album online and takes place at Sydney’s unofficial second home of outsider music and arts, The Record Crate, 34 Glebe Point Road, Glebe, NSW, on the 6th March 2015, doors at 8.00pm, $10 entry on the door.
This show will feature the seminal line up of Matthew Syres and Dirk Kruithof on guitars, Joe Cummins on trumpet and electronics, Evan McGregor on drums, and Shahane Bekarian on projections, for a totally unique, stunning, cinematic, and synaesthetic journey down the rabbit warren of our darkest musical hearts. Joe has relocated to Melbourne so it may be a while before this awesome lineup appears in Sydney again. Not to be missed.
Special guest for the evening will be Elsen Price, improvising on solo double bass. Elsen has shared the stage with such notable performers as Mike Patton, Lee Ranaldo, Steve Hunter and Bobby Singh in addition to performing and releasing material under his own name.
